This is absolutely to LOSE weight, not maintain. This calorie rev in the morning is the Spin @ 5:45am and afterward, at 7am cool down with an hour swim. The serious swimmers are gone by then. During the day my office has a weight room that I slip into for 30 mins and do the weights while watching mindless TV. I go home at night a get in a relaxing but difficult (hills) 5-10 mile bike ride after taking the dog on her walk.
The weekends are a different routine.
