Back...

So, I'm back to my pre-holiday weight. YAY!
I love the first few weeks of losing weight - And taking a couple months off to eat whatever I wanted seems to have reset me. It's awesome to see the scale move daily.
I prefer wondering how I lost 2 lbs overnight to wondering how many weeks it will take to lose a pound. :)
I still have 2 lbs more to lose before I am back at my lowest weight, but that should come shortly.
Eating liberally has really helped with my energy and workouts. I worked out a minimum of 3x a week over the holidays - even though my diet took a beating. I've had good gains in strength and I've been able to step up my cardio to 60 minutes with about 1/4 of that being running (1 minute intervals).
The intervals REALLY hit hard. I have to watch out or I'll be that "sweaty guy". :)
Let's see... Over the holidays I bought a weight belt. I'd been kind of avoiding them - I like the extra core workout you get without them, but my squats are getting heavier and I've been getting a bit sore on one side of my back - this seems to help. I bought the Nike "Structured" belt. It was only $30 locally. I got the one with the support ribs in it. I like it.
I was going to get a leather one, but I couldn't find one that fit properly that I also liked. And they were like $75. So, fit is kind of an issue. I wanted one that would fit well now, but also last for a year or so. I plan to be at least 50 lbs lighter by the end of the year - so that's a pretty wide range. This belt has a velcro closure which has a lot of adjustment in it. Although the velcro will probably die within the year, I expect.
I'm only using this for my heavy squats. I've never really been one to arch my back or anything, so I think I'm ok with everything but the heavy squats.
There STILL isn't enough snow on the ground to ski. :(
The gym is a mess. :) Dozens of new people there every night. It's kind of weird to see all of the fresh faces when you are used to seeing the same people for the last 6 months. But it's all good. While part of me hopes that it goes back to "normal" soon (so I can use the equipment without waiting), but the rational part hopes they all stick with it.
I have 2 News Year Resolutions:
1. Lose 50 lbs by the end of the year.
2. Get to bed by midnight daily.
I'm on track for #1. #2...Maybe I'll get there by the end of the year. :)
