They take on the flavor of whatever you add them to. I precook some up on Sunday and have them through out the week in my soups, ground beef, salads and muffins. They make the meal your having heartier and the fiber is esential for healthy eating.

I make the steel oats in a crock pot the night before and cook it for 8 hrs on low. It has chopped apples, water, nuts and steel oats. It last in the refrig for at least a week.

Tried for the first time today. Much different texture than old fashioned or quick oats.
