Speed Training Interval Run

When you are doing a 400M Repeat, you should attempt to run at about your 5K race pace. If you do not know your 5K race pace, you should run at a pace that is slightly faster than your normal running pace (RPE of 7 or 8).

RPE stands for Rate of Perceived Exertion and is based on a 10-point scale
10 = extreme exertion -- conversation is impossible
8 = high effort -- conversation is extremely labored
6 = optimum effort -- conversation is difficult, but possible
4 = medium effort -- conversation is easy to maintain2 = warm up
