Yoga Level 1: Tree Pose

Calories Burned:  204 calories per hour   (based on a body weight of 150 lbs.)
Begin in standing Mountain Pose.

Shift you weight to your right foot.

Bend your left knee, bringing it up toward your chest .

Rotate your left leg outward at the hip and rest the left foot as high up on the inside of your right leg as you can. Go to the inner shin or thigh.

The right leg remains straight.

Bring your hands to prayer position in front of your chest.

Support this position by pulling your abdominal muscles in and up, pointing your tailbone toward the floor, and by keeping your gaze steady.

Hold this position for 3 to 5 breaths.
