Local Produce
The veggies & fruit are so good!! & it's nice to buy from local growers. This time of year there is no reason to be purchasing produce from a different country or province....so come on everyone, go out and support your local farmers!!

Colors of veggies.
Sometimes I think what happens is the people who have those stands infuse different types and colors of other veggies that turn them those colors. I watched on tv last year where a potato farms was basically inventing new types of potatoes by infusing diferent type together. So anything is suppose in the words of Kevin Garnet after the Celtics won it all in 08'

farmers market
Both healthy and supporting the local economy?
Remember, colors are a good way to help keep a balanced diet.

COOL
I must lead a sheltered life, I have never seen RED broccoli. I would make red and green broccoli for Christmas, if I had access to some. Bummer. We support our local farmers market, but have yet to see anything more exotic than a purple potato or yellow tomato.

Love the local Farmer's Market-non-starchy veggies
I grow many veggies, and for weight loss, NON-starchy ones are supposed to be best:
green beans (fresh not canned)
cucumber
bel pepper
collard and mustard greens
zuccini
eggplant
squash
asparagus
broccoli
cabbage
brussel sprouts
spinach

I am growing-green pole beans, bell peppers, zucchini and squash.

A serving of vegetables equals 1 cup raw or 1/2 cup of cooked. Eat at least 6 servings per day.
