Having a hard time with calorie count
I need help with calorie counting my homemade food. I cook all of my lunches and dinners due to being a pescetarian. So I am having a hard time calculating calories for my recipes. So I can't think of a way to help this other than really watching my portion control. At dinner I pretty much can guess at it is between 500-600 calories based on the ingredients. I do appreciate the vast database of prepared food nutritionals though, it is really cool. It will also take some getting used to writing everything I eat in online. I was doing it on paper before, so that helped prep me a little. I really like this website and appreciate so much that it is free! Thank you!!!

HI Kymba
I think your best bet is entering foods singularly first, and then going back and favoriting them (check the little heart it will change to yellow once you favorite-and then show up first on the choices, the next time you enter it, pretty convenient I find). After doing that, continue to the receipe maker on the food tracker page. Then enter your creations that way. I think you can find most nutrition info on all types of fish on the internet. This is a pretty good site, for quick checks on nutrition info http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/finfish-and-shellfish-products/4045/2
Another tip I can give you is always recheck your ingredient values list in the recipe tracker, sometimes the ingredient you choose isn't the exact one that shows up, for example: Enter keyword <QUOTE>Chopped<QUOTE> anything, and it will choose whatever comes up first with that keyword. Often I have had to change almost every ingredient in my recipe due to incorrect entries, or choices by the program, but it is by far the best way to enter foods from your specific lifestyle/diet.
GOOD LUCK!!

I use recipe maker all the time!
I also have recipes that I use lots and have enteed them into the recipe maker --- again, you will have to make sure it registeres your correct ingredients because that definately affects the amt of calories. Good Luck
