Balancing act
I have to admit it is a balancing act to get all the nutrition in and keep the metabo going strong. I'm currently eating about 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% fat. I will probably slowly switch to 40/40/20 soon once I can consistently get in the middle of the range for protein. Right now I usually just make it or just under. This is more for building muscle which then boosts your metabo and burns the fat. I eat a lot of egg whites and veggies and have been on an english muffin kick lately (thomas' light to boost the fiber a bit). I also have old-fashioned oats and natural peanut butter with whole grain matzos once in awhile. I have fruit everyday. When I don't, I am grumpy...lol I've taken to freezing bananas before they go bad so I have some for smoothies or as a snack. I don't use artificial sweetners (honey or agave or real sugar in moderation), don't drink soda, very little milk and dairy compared to what I used to eat and drink. I do have the occasional beer, but it's far and few between. I usually put a Tbsp of flax seeds and some protein powder in my oatmeal or smoothies to again keep the fiber up with the added benefit of omega 3's since I don't like fish oil pills.
