I NEED HELP TO LOOSING WEIGHT
I went to my family doctor about a month ago and he told me that if i don't loose weight i am going to end up having a heart attack i am about 147 pounds away from my goal its all caused from stress of looking after my boyfriend and his health problems that he is going through. Monday i started walking to get my body in the routine of building up muscles that i haven't used in a long time and i have walked every other day. But when i do walk i walk the half an hour walks and i do weigh myself everyday and check my pressures and the only good news is my pressures are coming down but the weight is still up there if anyone has any advice on this or has been through i let me know how long it takes before you notice anything in the weight

walking
Hi wizard78,
I know what you mean. I used to walk to lose weight and I had to figure out how to make it work for me. I started by walking at a leisure pace for 1 mile. For a few days I kept a record of how long it took me to walk the mile. After 1 week I aimed at shaving off a few minutes by walking a little faster. I did that for for about 2 weeks, gradually reducing the amount of time it took me to walk that 1 mile. After that I walked 3.2 miles. 1.6 miles from my house to the next intersection, once there I had no choice but to walk all the way back. It was hard but I told myself to get my butt in gear. I walked huffing and puffing " you can do it. Keep on walking. You can do it. Don't give up." On the way to the intersection when I became ready to turn around at any point I would tell myself to make it at least to the next mailbox or tree or bend in the road. Once there I would do the same thing until I saw the intersection. Then I would go "You are almost there. Just keeop on putting one foot infront of the other" Needless to say I had to take a couple of minutes rest once I made it there but the point is I MADE IT. On the way back I might be slower than on the way there, however, after a few times walking the route I was able to go go go no rest until I was home again. Once I got the walking out and back part under control I worked on decreasing the time it took me. Don't forget your water. I live in NC and would walk either in the morning or after it cooled off. It did help me lose weight all over and increased my energy. I am going back to using this to kick off my long break from exercising and shed the pounds I gained. Hope that helps.
Good Luck
