Protein Mixes
Are those protein mixes good for you? I heard they will help build muscle but also help you to GAIN weight. Please reply. I have a friend who is taking it and trying to lose weight. Thanks.

Protein drinks are good for getting a bit of extra protein. And like everything else, some are better for you than others. Some are loaded with sugar and crap and are just cashing in on the "fitness craze".
You gain weight when you eat more calories than you burn. Junk food accelerates the (fat) gaining process. That's a bit simplistic, but it's the basic principle. Protein drinks have calories just like any other "food". But because they're supposed to be "healthy", and you're drinking rather than eating, it's easy to go overboard.
Protein drinks won't make you fat, or skinny, or muscular on their own. But as part of a larger plan, they can do any or all of those things.
