Setting up a secure home server for web hosting.
inquired a question about deploying websites.
I'm completely new to the home server scene, I would like to set up a home server on an unused Mac Mini late 2012 to securely run a webserver, so I can deploy my websites to them.
The websites I create are written in your basic front-end languages with Python + Django, and I've read I need to use Nginx and Gunicorn to deploy this, I'm unsure exactly how this is supposed to work either (nginx is supposed to be a "reverse proxy"? and gunicorn is a HTTP server?). But is this safe? How can I keep my server safe, what do I look out for? I'm very keen to learn, so any resources you guys may have is beyond helpful.
I suppose I'm looking for guidance in how to approach my scenario. I plan to boot Ubuntu on the Mac mini using a USB drive, then install all my dependencies (python, django, etc) and find a setup tutorial somewhere online for nginx and gunicorn - but what am I missing?
Everything seems awfully cloudy at the moment and I hope to clear it up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou! ps/ looking for the right subreddit to post this, i hope i found the right one

Seedboxes
Yeah!
Seedboxes usually have a high-speed Internet connection https://www.seedboxco.net/ (much faster than those available to the average consumer). This allows users to download torrents quickly and - perhaps more importantly -seed the torrents for a long time.
