Shout out to women who have successfully battled belly fat
Good morning!
I would love to hear from any women who have had a substantial belly fat problem and have had success with tackling it. I am absolutely overweight but the biggest problem area is my belly and hips. Its almost like I carry a pillow around that area. Without that weight, I think I would simply consider myself "chubby". Did anyone else on this board start with that problem and find some successful methods of ridding themselves of the pillow effect in the belly and hips?

Belly fat
I'm battling that problem too. I have been all my life. I've never been overweight, but always carried visceral fat in my abdomen. This summer, I was motivated and lost 10 pounds, but it came off everywhere on my body with only a little on the stomach. I'm sure if I still to my diet plan and INCREASE my CARDIO, it will be possible. Reducing stress also helps. Eating slow, drinking lots of water and not eating gassy foods are also good ideas. If you have a lot of abdominal fat, don't bother with ab exercises yet, until it's almost gone. Cardio, time and diet is the only way to get rid of that! Good luck!

Thank you so much for your response. I thought that ab exercises at this point might be counterproductive. It sounds as if your experience supports that thought. Focusing on cardio and calorie control at this point. Again, thanks!

I found my belly fat shrinking
It's going to take a lot of time and effort but after having two kids back to back my problem areas were my hips and belly area as well. I did a round of p90x followed by Turbo Fire and found it the easiest to follow and commit to Turbo Fire. I've lost 40lbs now in 4 months and I have about 10lbs to go but I have come a long way. Here is a link to the program if you would like to check it out. I really owe it to Turbo Fire for helping my mommy tummy!

Keep at it
Unfortunately, diet is 80 percent of the battle. I have lost 40 pounds and still have belly fat as my diet has not always been strict. Most of my weight loss has come from increasing cardio and weight lifting. Having kids and being older make it harder; however, I have seen my belly shrink over time and know I can get there. Logging your food will help you see areas that you can work on. Perserverence is the key. Good Luck.

Middle ground assistance
Are you still looking for help with belly fat issues? There is an article in livestrong.com outlining a thirty day plan to lose three inches off the middle and today I did a fifteen min ab workout with coach Nicole from spark-people on YouTube it was very simple but I think it will be very effective and she works both front and back abs check it out!
