Some issues
First of all, I want to say that I am impressed with the site; it is very complete, but obviously still in beta, as:
I have talked to you support about the problems I am having entering food stuffs. The (flash) window always comes up, but if I 'Choose' a food stuff, most of the time, nothing happens (except for the activity indicator at the top moving). I am using Mac OSX and have tried with both Safari and Google Chrome. If you want me to try another browser, please let me know. For me, this is an essential part of the functionality, and even though I have found a work-around, it still annoys me that it doesn't work as intended.
I also have a suggestion regarding the communication. It's nice that replies that affect you personally are sent by mail, but the group activities are not easily found again (i.e. you have to go and find the thread again to see if someone replied).
Also, the personal communications you send to other site members are not stored somewhere (or I haven't found the place yet), which would help me to pick up a conversation that was interrupted some time ago.
Keep up the good work, and I hope you can use some of my suggestions.
Regards,
Little Bhudda

One suggestion I forgot: tweet body metrics?
Since the original post was quite long, I forgot to mention the original idea that prompted me to post.
It would be great (I think...) if we could tweet at least our weight as well. This would be useful when not behind your own computer (e.g. on holidays)...
Any supporters, or am I the only one using the diet tweets?

Some issues
I am having the same problem as you. How are you working around this? I agree that it is a very important part of the program.

Workaround for problems entering food stuffs
@rosebud: What I do is add a food, wait till the window pops up that blanks out the normal screen, where you can find the foods, locate the food you want, and then:
- DON'T use the 'Choose' button, but
- Select the item itself (i.e. the text link of the item), which takes you to the page where the item is described in detail
- On the top of that page there is a button to add it to your food (you have to select the meal again, even if you did that when adding the food)
Very messy, but it works reliably for me...
Good luck!

Also a Mac User - Firefox works
I also use a Mac and can't get Fitclick to work with Safari. However, I've had virtually no problems using the site with Firefox. So I recommend that as a workaround.

issue comments
Thanks for mentioning the issues you're having. We do need to test more rigorously in Safari and Firefox is always a good alternative.
However, we did do some testing last night using Safari 4 (the latest version) on a Mac running OS X and while there did seem to be an initial lad when using the "Choose" button in the diet tracker, it did ultimately work. And then the lag disappeared.
We will look into this further but it would be helpful if you told us what version of the browser you were using and/or try updating to the latest version and trying again.
