Was feeling great - now feeling tired - what gives?
So I started this whole diet and excersize program on 9/20. So far I have lost 16 pounds. I am excersizing every day - mostly classes at the Y. Kickboxing, step, cardio interval, etc. Sometimes I do 30 min on the elliptical and then lift.
In the beginning, I could barely get through a class. I was so out of shape. As the weeks went on, I could feel that I was stronger and I could make it through more of the class. I felt strong. I also sweat a ton more now then I did when I was starting. I took this to mean that I was getting stronger and my body could do more - work harder.
This week at classes, I seem to be getting tired/out of breath again. I did a kickboxing on Tuesday, Step on Wed, off Thurs, and Step today. I felt like my body wanted to do less then it was doing before. I was so happy when I could make it through a class and not be doing all the modifications with the older ladies (I am only 36!)
I don't want to excersize less and I am making really great weight loss progress, but it is such a bummer to feel so BLAH after a workout.
Is this just because I am stronger now and so even without meaning too, I am continuing to push during classes?
Not to be too graphic, but it is right before that time of the month. I tend to be pretty lethargic around this time. Could it just be a normal ebb and flow to my female body?
I have never had success before with excercise and eating healthy so this is all new territory for me. Am I doing too much? Do I just need to suck it up and do it to get stronger?

Experiment
Hi,
I'd experiment a bit. I think everyone hits this point - I did. In my case, what I think I really needed was a few carbs a half hour before and right after my workout - I'm doing low-carb so I ended up substituting a 5 hour energy before and it seems to work reasonably well.
You might also need some rest - maybe take a leisurely weekend.
I don't know anything about your other possibility, but if you are normally lethargic at this time - it seems logical that you might continue to be lethargic now.
Good Luck!
