What to eat to gain weight?
I have a high metabolism & have been the same weight since high schoo, give or take 5lbs. I want to gain about 15-20 lbs. in muscle bu tdon't know what to eat. I am kind of a picky eater & I eat the worst foods possible. My main diet is fast food & junk food but I don't gain weight. I am a pretty active person too, just wondering what healthier foods I should start eating to help increase my muscle mass.

re: what to eat to gain weight?
First you need to back off the unhealthy weight gaining and focus on the healthy weight gaining. Fast food and junk food, though tasty in moderation will hurt you long term, its filled with the things you don't want to gain 15-20lbs of muscle.
Second, focus on eating protein heavy foods (fish, chicken, pork, beef, beans) but cooked in a healthy manner. Limit the amount of grease you intake. To counter the amount of protein you intake, make sure you have the fiber needed to clean out your system and the vitamins and minerals you need to make sure you aren't killing yourself with a protein heavy meal. Make sure you get some dairy in you two so your bones can be strong also for the task of putting on the amount of muscle you want. Also, plenty of water helps. For everything you intake, balance it with something else. Don't over do it either (stuffing yourself doesn't help, it only makes you want to throw it all up again).
Third, realize that the amount of food you eat doesn't neccessarily indicate that you are going to get 20lbs of muscle in the snap of a finger. It will take plenty of time! Make sure you get to exercising well, because 20lbs won't come out of anywhere. Eating right is only part of it.
Don't think that there is one masterful meal to make everything right. What I do: take some ground beef, brown it, take some frozen/fresh/canned veggies, heat em up, a glass of milk and a glass of water. Its simple, it just requires the effort of cooking (Which I lack a times).
Sorry its long winded, but I've spent plenty of time asking and thinking and reading so I have a lot of info to share. Hope this helps.

Also to keep in mind, to gain weight, look at a gram of protein per pound of body weight and then balance the healthy meal from their. Simple has worked for me, no crazy seafood platter here.

yes, but...
While I am trying to gain and build, my husband is 350 lbs. and I am trying to "enable" him to LOSE weight. Added to that, we have two picky tween girls for whom we are trying to set a healthy example. Any suggestions? I can only eat small amounts (I have scar tissue and my stomach simply does not stretch, I just get sick).
