re: belly fat
I'm not sure how "fast" this will be either but try cutting down on sugars and any artificial sweetners. Also, pilates is a great core workout. I've been doing it 2x a week along with other strength training/cardio and noticing a lot more defintion in my abs.

Try high intensity interval training for your cardio. You can do it on the treadmill or the exercise bike but I would recommend the treadmill. If you want to lose your belly fat it will take more than exercise. You can't get rid of belly fat with ab exercises alone. You have to have some good quality cardio and you MUST eat the right foods.

ok....well this is where i'm having the problem.....i dont have any machines or workout stuff...i have been doing all on my own....but just started bout a week ago really focusing on my belly....set-ups, side cruches, jumping jacks, leg lifts. Any more ideas i can do on my own? this is where i get stuck....and cardio? i have no idea what kinda stuff to do with cardio. im new to exercising. As far as eating....im on a diet program through my doctor and on meds to help. i have lost 25 pounds but thats not from exercise. now im still losing but trying to get it toned up.

To burn fat you have to do a lot of cardio. If you don't have any kind of equipment you can do jumping jacks, jump rope, ride a bike, etc... also, there are a lot of workout DVDs you can loan from your local library...you might have to request a specific one, if you're neighborhood library doesn't have it, but that way you can try it out for a week & if you love it, then you can go buy it (Amazon is pretty cheap, or try your local halfprice bookstore...). Also watching what you eat is obviously a major part, but you said you're already on a doctor prescribed diet...
Good luck, whatever you do, it will take time, cause loosing belly fat is the hardest kind...I'm working on it myself...

Oh, I forgot: there's a really good DVD by Jillian Michaels, that doesn't use any equipment: Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism
I love it, but it's pretty tough if you're just starting out... check it out at your library!

In my personal experiance, diet is the most important way to burn fat. You can do a million exercises for abs but will never be able to see them unless you do burn the fat. Believe it or not... consistent strength, cardio and diet will get you there....promise!
