Social situations are definately hard to handle no matter what kind of diet you are on. It's also a bummer to think that you can't go out to eat without running into situations like that. I'm sure the pain didn't make for a very good evening. More and more people are going to gluten free foods. I wonder if you were to talk to the manager of your favorite restaurant and see what their take is on offering a gluten free menu. Even if it's a few items at least it would accomodate. You never know. Information like this could give them a whole new insight as to their customer needs. I'm sorry you're having to deal with all of this but try to keep your head up and continue to work towards getting your body back in working order. (BTW - I love pizza too but I just eat the topping. I never do eat the bread part)

Yep - it's nice to have something to keep track of that for you. I just bought a omron electronic body fat monitor so i don't have to calculate it myself each month - pretty nifty device. When I can't make it out to the gym I take the dog for a jog and/or do some pushups and core work at home but mostly I go to the gym - I'm pretty much addicted to lifting heavy weights - it's the only thing that gives my mind a total break and I need that!

I know it hasn't been long but are you able to tell any difference with the gluten free diet yet?

How do you like the Wii fit? Which games are you doing on it? I tried out one the yoga poses on my friends' - it was pretty cool out how tracks your balance by center of gravity...

So many people are going gluten-free and finding out that gluten was the cause of all their stomach problems. Dr's don't know everything and sometimes it takes several to put the pieces of a puzzle together. Eating healthy has to be the best choice. Narrowing it down to possibly gluten/dairy free might be what solves your problem. Hope so anyway. But you never know until you try it. Stay positive with being proactive in trying to solve these problems and know that your weight will be addressed when the time comes. Hang in there!!!!!

  • On Tuesday night i had a set back. I ate a gluten filled rueben and large french fries. Overloaded my digestive system which is already weak and fragile. I became completely sick and was in severe pain. I need to realize this is my life now, To embrace clean eating and supporting my digestive system. It also was a hard day mentally. I am working thru my issues and hopefully feeling better soon. Just wishing that i did not have to work and be stuck here.
