Spread apples in single layer on paper-towel lined baking sheet-pat dry.

In bowl conbine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Whisk cider, eggs, and melted butter in medium bowl until combined.

Stir apples into flour mixutre until incorporated.

Heat 3 cups oil in dutch oven over medium heat to 350 degrees. Use 1/3 c. measuring cup to transfer 5 heaping portions of batter to oil. Press batter w/ back of spoon to flatten while in oil. Fry between 325-350 degrees until deep golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Trans to wire rack set inside rimmed baking sheet.

Bring oil back to 350 degrees and repeat with remaining batter

Let cool for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, whisk confectioners' sugar, cider, and nutmeg, and cinnamon in medium bowl til smooth. Top each fritter with 1 heaping tsp of glaze.
