Dice onion, peppers, carrots, celery and bacon

Saute bacon, stirring frequently. Once done, remove from pan and drain off excess grease- leave a small amount to saute the veggies

Saute onion, peppers, carrots and celery until softened

Add bacon, beans, tomatoes, salt, pepper and water

Bring pot to a boil, turn down and cover. Simmer for 2 hours or until beans are tender
