I tried this recipe with imitation crab and it definitely ruined it. However, my partner still loved them. Don't waste your taste buds, buy real crab if you are making this dish. Furthermore, the cakes didn't seem like they would stay together, trust me...the recipe works and if you cook them til they are done they come out perfect. I would make it again just with real crab.
