Directions:  
In large pot, add chick peas and add water to just cover. Simmer chick peas with one garlic glove, adding more water if needed.
In separate frying pan, fry chopped up bacon until crisp. Remove and set aside.
Saute chopped onions, carrot and 3 cloves garlic.
Puree half of chick peas and return to pot with chicken broth. Add sauteed vegetables and spinach and simmer for 10 min. Add bacon and pasta shells and simmer until pasta is al dente.
Salt and pepper to taste.
