Preheat oven 275 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, whisk together creme, egg yolks, sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until creamy.
Pour mixture into 4 ramekins (small ceramic bowls) and place in a baking pan. Fill baking pan halfway up with hot water. Place in oven for 45 minutes, checking on brulee consistently.
Remove from oven and let cool. Sprinkle a think layer of light brown sugar on the top of each ramekin and then torch. If you do not have a torch, stick the ramekins under the broiler for a minute or so.
