Description: A crockpot fish recipe. You will need to start with frozed thick cut ( 1-1/2 inches) pieces of any firm white fish. If the broth is too thin at the end of cooking, remove fish to plate and tent with foil to keep warm. Then reduce mushroom and onion miso broth in pan. Place fish gently in pan with reduced broth and heat thru and serve with steamed rice of choice.

Directions:  
First you have to use the portion of the fillet the thickest end if using cod
Have your fish monger cut you two 6 oz pieces of fish from the whole fillet.
Freeze fish well.

Chop and saute mushrooms until tender. I usually have to cover portabellas with a pan lid to sweat them out to begin sauting. This way you dont have to add more oil. Takes about ten minutes. Set aside.

In a clean pan add olive oil and saute onions until caramelized, about 20 minutes over med heat. Turn off heat.

Add frozen fish to small 6 cup size crockpot ( yes the little cute one) . You may have to thaw your fish a little and cut in half to fit in crockpot.

Add water and miso paste to fish in crockpot, after mixing well together. Heat it up a little in microwave to get it to mix faster. Pour over fish. Top fish and miso broth with onions and mushrooms. Cook on high heat for 4-5 hrs.
