Deep Dark Devil's Food Cake/Cupcakes

2  cups		or sifted cake flour
2/3  cup		unsweetened cocoa
1/4  teaspoon		backing soda
1  teaspoon		salt
2/3  cup		shortening
1-1/10  cups		sugar
3		large eggs
2  teaspoons		vanilla
1-1/4  cups		water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees
First mix glour, cocoa baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
With a mixer or in another bowl beat shortening, sugar, eggs, and vanilla at a high speed until light and fluffly, about 5 minutes.
Alternately beat in flour mixture and water on low speed. Do not over beat.
Fill cupcake sheets 2/3s of the way full with batter. Bake in a moderate oven at 350 for 15 -18 minutes
