Directions:

mix 1 tbsp sugar, yeast and water and let it ferment for 10 minutes
2)in a separate bowl, mix flour, 1 1/2 C sugar and salt well and make a "well" in the middle of the bowl
3)pour the oil, eggs and yeast mixture in the middle
4)knead, cover with saran wrap and a towel and let it sit for 1 1/2 hours
5
braid into challahs and let it rise for 45 minutes
6)brush top with egg wash if desired and sesame or poppy seeds
7)bake at 350 for 35 minutes
