Hurst's HamBeens with Eckrich Smoked Sausage

20  ounces		Hurst's HamBeens
14  ounces		Eckrich Smoked Sausage
1  cup		onion, chopped
14-1/2  ounces		diced tomatoes
1  teaspoon		chili powder
1  tablespoon		juice of a lemon
2		cloves of garlic

Place beans in a large pot, cover and allow to soak overnight, or at least 8 hours.
Drain and add 2 quarts of water.
Bring beans to a boil reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 2 1/2 hours.
After simmering, add onion, tomatoes, chili powder, lemon and garlic, simmer for another 30 minutes.
add contents of am packet 1 - 2 minutes before cooking is completed.
Salt and pepper to taste.
