Press the Saute button on the Instant Pot and melt your fat of choice.

Add the onion, celeriac root, carrots, and celery and saute 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. If using stew meat, you can add it in at this time also.

Next, pour in the bone broth, canned tomatoes, salt, and spices. If using browned ground beef, now is the time to add it.

Place the lid on the Instant Pot, check the seal, and make sure the vent is closed. Press Cancel to stop sauteing. Press the Beef/Stew function and set the time to 30 minutes.

Manually release pressure when the Instant Pot beeps.

Finally, stir in the frozen peas, if using.

Wait 5 minutes before serving.
