Description: Side dish of lentils and sauteed onions
Ingredients:  Makes 20 servings (10 cups)

Look over lentils and rinse.

Combine drained lentils, chicken broth, water, bay leaf and thyme in large pot; bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 hours, or until lentils are very soft and starting to make a "gravy".

Saute ground beef and onions in skillet, breaking up meat, until onions are soft; cover and cook until onions are very soft. Add to lentils

Add salt and pepper.
(do not add salt to lentils before cooking -- makes them tough.)
