Directions:
Take the frozen puff pastry packages out of the freezer and put in the fridge the night before, or leave out until defrosted the day of baking
Mix the ground meat and all other ingredients together except the egg, butter and puff pastry. Roll the meat into 1 - 1 1/2 in balls.
Ad some flour to a counter (or a surface you plan to use for rolling out the dough) and a rolling pin, then take one of the soft puff pastry packages and flatten and stretch it with a roller pin till it reaches about 20-25 inches and almost as wide. The thinner the dough the thinner the bottom and top pieces over the meat when cooked, so experiment to find the thickness you like.
Now cut the dough with a round cookie cutter about the size of the top of a tea cup. One puff pastry package should make about 26 - 30 round cut pieces. (You may need to brush off the execs flour from each puff pastry piece) For each meat pie you need two pieces of cut dough.
Put one piece on the counter and place a meatball in the center, and cover with another piece of round cut dough, and press a little together finishing with pressing the ends with a fork so they stick together.
Take a baking pan and spread one tsp of butter on the bottom
When done place the meat pie on the buttered baking pan, and continue the process until all the dough pieces are turned into meat pies.
After you place the meat pies in the buttered baking pan take a brush and brush the mixed/beaten egg over the meat pies. Make sure have enough for both batches.
If you have two baking pans that you can fit into your oven you can do them both at the same time, if not just prepare one and bake while you prepare the second puff pastry and meat to make the remaining of the pies.
Preheat the oven at 375 and bake the first or both pans with meat pies for 30 - 35 minutes.
Take out and let cool for a few minutes, and enjoy!
