Preheat oven to 350 F

Cook pasta according to package directions

While pasta is cooking, prepare the cheese sauce by adding the rest of the ingredients, except the breadcrumbs, to a high-speed blender, and blending until smooth

Combine sauce with cooked pasta, add tomatoes

Add pasta and sauce to 9 x 13 casserole dish, liberally spread breadcrumbs over the top of the dish.

Bake in the oven until breadcrumbs are browned, about 10-15 minutes.

This is a tasty alternative to traditional mac and cheese. There is a lot of garlic in this recipe, so if you are not a fan of garlic, simply cut it down. You may also add mushrooms and lightly sauteed onion.
