Ok so today I did some research on a way to mentally prepare myself, focus and try to cut out stress. Some of the things that I have decided to focus on are:
Journal - Keep track of what triggers my anger (something I have an issue with) and what triggers me to want to eat (Fights, etc.) and learn to predict and over come them. Plus, you keep track of your progress.
Mantra - Come up with your mantra that will help focus you and keep you thinking of what you are doing and why. ("I want to better myself so that I am better to my family.")
Count - When your emotions are getting the best of you, count to 10 (100 if you are really feeling it) and with each count take a deep breath and repeat your mantra.
Exercise and eat right - Stupid I know but it needs to be said. We all know it and yet so many of us are not doing it! It just makes you feel better in everyway.
So here is the start. I have set up myself for success, you should too!
