To go long or not

I ran my firt marathon last summer, and felt intimidated by my age the heat and not wanting to risk a DNF so I had a slower time than I wanted. But I finished and felt fine the next day and went kayaking and spent the entire day out side. So now my dillema is whether or not to run the same marathon in June to see if I can improve on by time.
