Getting started

Today was my first time on FitClick.com. I just found this site and am really excited about it, because for a long time I have thought that blogging about my food habits, problems and anxiety would help me become stronger and healthier.
My true problem is sweets. I cannot resist a chocolate chip cookie, chocolate cake or chocolate-anything, for that matter. I am not necessarily a devout Catholic, but for Lent I had tried to give it up. I was successful for an entire week....and then that cupcake called my name.
I want to get back on track because for those 7 days I felt great. It is such a cleansing feeling when your body doesn't have those refined sugars attacking you! But along with the physical sickness after devouring a chocolate bar, the anxiety I get really takes a toll on me mentally. I can't get what I have eaten off the brain.
I noticed when I was "chocolate-free" (and dessert free in general) I am much happier. It's just going to be getting over the hurdle of being able to avoid it completely. I can do it and I am hoping this will help.
