plateaus suck

I keep plateauing and gaining and losing the same 4 pounds... i keep kicking up my workouts and decreasing my calories but it keeps going up and down.
this is natural in the game of weight loss.
one helpful tip i have for everyone is to MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE!!
i'm a visusal person. i need to see the number on the scale EVERYDAY to stay on track. i need to see numbers and results to keep motivated.
I measure my body from neck to calfs. When i reach plateaus like this in the weight loss its great to measure because even though i may not have lost pounds i hopefully have lost inches! and sometimes inchs are what really counts. weight loss can be water...but inches are FAT
i usually measure myself every 10 days... even though i've gone up and down for a few weeks now in my weight i have lost 5 inches!
just gotta keep the goal in mind and keep going! hopefully i can break the plateau this week!
any suggestions?
