Wow - almost 2 weeks logging everything and it definitely makes me more mindful of what I eat and keeps me on top of making sure I make time for exercise.

Today is Shavuot, the holiday where Jews celebrate receiving the 10 Commandments from God.  I took the kids to Temple this morning and didn't have anything to eat afterwards - my choices were white flour bagels, cream cheese and store bought breads (marble, lemon poppyseed, etc.).

I decided to skip the food and wait until I got home for better choices.  I did take one bite of my son's marble bread because he said it tasted funny.  It was store-bought so it had a preservative flavor to it and he's "spoiled" by home-baked goods that don't need those chemicals.

So, we get home, I have left over pot roast, carrots and whole grain rice pilaf (Seeds of Change - I love this stuff!).

Today it is traditional to eat dairy foods, so we're having ice cream after lunch.  I'm having one Weight Watcher's ice cream sandwich (140 cals, 2 g fat).  I have room in my food plan for two but I don't think I'll eat two - dinner looks a little un-filling so we'll see how I feel and I'll probably add more food to dinner instead of eating more ice cream.

I'd make the kids blintzes, but I doubt they'd appreciate them.  Tomorrow is another dairy day but I think I'll make Belgian waffles with fruit and whipped cream for breakfast instead of blintzes.  I'll have a slice of Ezekiel cinnamon raisin toast and maybe celebrate with a little extra cream in my coffee.
