So I decided, against the pleadings of my three teenage children, that I will download some booty shakin' music to my computer and dance it up in my garage on a daily basis. The reasoning behind this? I used to be fit and have lots of energy. I had a nice flat tummy and a rockin' booty. After baby number 4, my body took a dive. Now I just continually gain weight and am becoming flabby. I have tried everything, but in analyzing the differences in my life between then and now, (I refuse to accept that just because I am in my early 30s I should have to be fat and tired) I have realized that one difference is that I don't go out to clubs and shake it on a regular basis anymore. In fact if I go out dancing twice in the same year it is very rare. I used to go out 3-4 times a week. So, I am hoping that bringing back the cardio (minus the empty booze calories) will slim me down again. The reason I think that this may be different than doing one of my many workout videos, is that it is freestyle. No pressure. Just having a good time. Maybe once I build up my endurance and gain back some muscle I can concentrate on form, but for now I just need to have fun with it. Here's to hoping for the best. I hope you all will follow me on my journey.
