How I lost over 100 pounds

I blogged when I was on Curves Complete.  However, I didn't feel the urge to do this here,  I really have managed to amaze myself.  The reason I am back is 1144 (luv u Marsha) asked me.  Then today, Judy, a Curves member pulled me aside before Zumba and asked me to help her.  She is struggling.  So this gave me the motivation to start again.  I am hoping she will come here to read it.

I want to go back to start at the beginning so that those who ask me, can just read this and find where they are going.  It is intimidating to begin any sort of lifestyle change and if you don't know how to begin or start you have no idea what to do.

So step 1:  Get honest with you.  My highest recordable weight that I can find was 317.5 pounds as I learned when I went over my chart at the clinic a few weeks ago.  I am sure it was more than that, since I seem to think I was feeling "skinny" when it was taken.

In the infamous words of Dr. Phil, "You cannot change what you won't acknowledge."  If you don't know your weight you cannot change it.  So start here.  Figure out what you weigh now using a digital scale.  This is the most accurate.  Pick somewhere that you will be able to do this at least once a week.  I use Curves, however, you could buy one for home, too.  It is important to use the same scale in the same place each time.

Secondly, starting logging.  Both your food intake and your activity.  If you have managed to read this, you are obviously on this site, why not use it for your log?  If you are fortunate enough to have a cool smart phone, you can use your phone to help you.  We underestimate how much we eat and overestimate how much we move.  Everyone does.  We forget about the cupcake at work because it was so and so's birthday but we think that walk we took should have burned a million calories.

Now, this is not about getting down on yourself.  This is about getting honest with you.  An honest picture of what you are doing, or not doing.  We are going to use it to find the good and the bad.  You already took the first step, you are here.

So if you are up to the challenge, let's begin.  I want you to do this for 2 weeks and in no way shape or form think about anything else over this time.  Do what you normally do, eat what you normally eat.  I will tell you how we will interpret this later.  If you feel the desire to let me know you took my offer (as I plan to send a link to few friends).

Good luck to you.  If I can do this...anyone can.
