starting to get healthier

Okay, here its goes. I have been on my weight loss journey since April of 2010. At that time I weighted atleast 240 lbs (maybe more) and now as of last week I weigh 217 lbs. According to my last doctors visit my highest weight was 297 lbs. I have always been heavy and so is my whole family. I was raised believing that a family sit down meal was Mcdonalds in the car. I am married now and a child of my own and have to say I have not set the best example for my son. He has a healthy weight, but neither my husband or I do. My husband has been on this journey with me also and he is doing great!
Here is the hard part for me, I have a bad hip, so all high impart exerise is out for me. I swim 2-3xs a week and try to do yoga and some light free weight training. My bad hip can be very painful and it makes it quite hard sometime to do anything let alone exerise.
My family has stopped eating fast food and stopped drinking pop, which has helped out big time. No more heartburn or acid reflux:) My husband and I both keep food journals and try to eat as healthy as possible. I found this web site when I was searching for more water exerises and am hoping it might help keep me on track more.
