A Frantic New Year

Well, I started excercising again- after years of not- in the beginning of December instead of waiting to make it a resolution. I got up between 7-7:30am and went for an hour long walk every day. I took weekends off. I was doing well until the week after Christmas. I spent Xmas weekend helping to paint a community center, though so, that counted (for me) as a workout. The following week, though, I found myself in so much pain, any extra movement was laughable. So, when I felt better on Wednesday nite, I decided to go paint some more on Thursday. It was more entertaining than walking and went on for hours. I didn't go for a walk that Friday because I had to get up at 6 so I could go into work early at 7.
I found all this acceptable, then the following schedule unfolded:
Monday: work @ 8:30am
Tuesday: work @ 10am (normal time) but I slept late and missed walking:(
Wednesday: work @ 7:30am
Thursday: skipped early walk and walk around town for morning errands before work @ 2. That was ok because the walking ended up totalling almost an hour.
Friday: work 8:30am

I make it a point not to walk before the sun is mostly up because it's so dark outside. It just feels safer. So, the days I have to work before 10 I tend to skip it. I got out of my rhythm and felt bad about it.
This morning, as I got ready to walk, I felt such a push not to go that I stayed in, BUT I went along with a workout dvd and felt much better.

Something is always better than nothing, right?
