Day one (not really just day one here)

I have years of not eating well, and to be perfectly honest not eating much. Yup, I got fat from not eating (and when I did eat it was all super carb crazy fried and bad.. I miss buffalo wings...). On Valentines day (last month) I walked into a personal training studio and spilled my secrets, weighed in, and measured. It was SCARY! I'm 27,          5' 7 & 3/4", and I weighed in at 189.9 and my BMI was 47.7. On a scale of bad to holy crap, I was at HOLY CRAP I let myself get to this point!?!?! I signed a check and sat down and went over a bit of nutrition information. Step One: Eat. Crazy right? When you think about losing weight you think, fewer calories right? Not in my world. See here's the thing, I only ate dinner. I lived off coffee and dinner. So "T" told me to eat, try to stay within 1200 calories but eat. I gained weight, which was expected so it didn't crush me. I was good with it, especially because about two weeks after the eating thing started (three weeks in) I was back at my starting weight of 189. I have been to the gym at least twice a week (small child + single parent = hard time getting a sitter) since I signed up. Ok so I guess that was a watered down version of the recent past, with a very light splash of the past so here we are. My problem now is that I haven't lost anything, I'm still at my starting weight. So back to the nutrition drawing board, except I know what the problem is. Portion control and I was allowing carbs at night. So, no more carbs at night (unless its a school night then some but not a pasta dinner). I ordered a scale off amazon to measure my food (yay). I'm going to use this to plan my days. I'm more of a list person than I like to admit, so this is now my list. *Did I forget to mention that "T" suggested that I cut gluten? Oh yeah that was fun, a 44" belly measurement and "within normal limits" arm & leg measurements was a flag. So my newly tedious life just became much more tedious. Not sure how to handle outings and dinner with my boyfriends family. Thats a good question....

How many of you have had to let a host know that you have major dietary limitations?

Were you successful without being rude?

Did you just bring your own food to be safe? (not everyone knows gluten hides as "natural flavoring" among other dirty hidden names)

Oh jeeze... it's almost midnight... and it's marathon week at the gym, AND tomorrow is day 3 (I did tuesday and wednesday back to back with only thursday as a break I'm still sore) so I go to bed, I'll be sweating my gut off in 9 hours and 35 minutes.

Thanks for reading, come back I promise I'm far more amusing than this post.
