The company should also come up with a good communication system. The employees should be able to air their views on different issues with ease. Through a good communication system the top management will be able to explain to the employees the goals it intends to attain and ensure that employees understand them clearly. The employees will also be able to give their contributions and this will make them feel important to the organization and they will be able to develop more skills.

The managers should also delegate their authority to some of the employees when they are not present. Through delegation of authority the employees will acquire new skills. Delegation of authority will also be another way of training employees to become good leaders. In addition, delegation of authority will motivate the employees and this will increase their performance levels. The company will train the employees and at the same time motivate them through delegation of authority.

The company should come up with a strategy of self-directed work group where the employees can supervise themselves. The employees should be encouraged to work without supervision. The employees can be trained so that they will perform their duties without supervision. When the employees are left to work without supervision, they will be motivated to work because they feel that they are part of the management. This will make them feel trusted, their productivity will increase and this will help the company to achieve its goals. The company ensures that the duties are distributed evenly. It can establish new departments if the current departments are handling too many tasks. Restructuring the staff may be expensive, but if the company wants to be an employer of choice this will be very important method. The company can also review the salaries of the employees and ensure that they receive a fair pay. The company should also ensure that the working conditions of the employees are good and the working environment is friendly. Employees will therefore want to work in this organization and this makes the company to become an employer of choice.

The leaders have a responsibility of ensuring that the employees continue to develop in the organization. In the modern world the employees will only remain in an organization if they feel that they are developing. When the employees are not given a chance to develop, they leave for other companies where they will be able to develop. To ensure that the employees are developing, the company should therefore come up with ideas, such as delegation of authority which will help to train the employees to become good leaders. The company should also offer training programs once in a while to ensure that the employees develop their skills. To develop a leadership development plan a manager should define leadership competencies and assess the current leadership skills to ensure that the plan is successful. The company should make use of the employees in the organization by training them and avoid employing the new ones because the process of hiring new employees is expensive.

When developing a leadership development program, the manager should consider the goals that the company has set and ensure that the plan is in accordance with the goals. The manager should make sure that the plan helps the company to attain the goals set. The manager should also consider the budget of the company and ensure that the plan makes use of the company resources in the most effective way. With such strategies, the program is guaranteed success and prosperity.
