Bookmaker disputes

No one will deny that people have always loved to argue and prove their point.
It is embedded at a genetic level. But one country succeeded in this love much more than all others. We are talking, as many have probably already guessed, about the UK and its betting on horse racing.

This tradition has been ingrained in the minds of the English for centuries. History takes us back to 1766, when a former gelding of a herdsman named Richard Tattesol decided to organize an entire auction featuring thoroughbred horses.

The most amazing thing is that this auction was able to survive to this day, it is now very popular, but after more than 240 years had passed. The first premises of the auction were located at the intersection of two streets: Piccadilly and Park Lane, then it was the edge of the city, now it's practically the heart of London.

At that time real gentlemen met, exchanged opinions, watched the races and occasionally made small bets for the excellent stallions.

It was here that the first bookmaking disputes as a whole direction in sports was born, and it is from these walls this sphere spread around the world and reached such a large audience.

The term "bookmaker", which we use so often, can be translated from English as "bookkeeping". The point here is that people who accepted bets kept all bets in a special notebook - a book, which never let go of their hands.

In those years, the first bookmakers accepted handicap bets, because in the competitions of the time, competitors of different strengths could take part, so their chances were somewhat equalized.

More often than not, a handicap was given to the weakest, which could take the form of extra time or a reduction of the running distance.

The confusion then reigned in the hippodrome itself, as well as in all the few bookmakers' offices in the capital. Such confusion reigned, however, not for very long.

Everything changed dramatically when a tradition called "Fair Betting" was introduced in England.

This tradition implied that the reputation of the bookmaker himself should be a tool for achieving success in this not easy business.

Fifteen years later, bookmaking was able to cross the ocean and reach Philadelphia. It was here that the first bookmaker's office in the United States opened. A little later, as the turn of the century, such offices began to emerge in many countries around the world and many of them are popular around the world, such as https://aviator-game.in/review/jetx/. But to this day, it is the UK that holds the palm of primacy in the number and quality of betting shops.
