I am taking the rest of December off. Will post details when I start back, how much ground I lost, and how fast I can make up that ground. Just need a break, and looking to have some fun over the holidays.

My little break...

OK, so I talked about speeding up the loss, but then I got to thinking...
I really wanted to take a little break. As much as I wanted it to be a sprint to a thinner life, it is more like a marathon.

When I started, I wanted to lose about 190 lbs. After 4 months, I had dropped 80 lbs. And I will tell you, I felt better, looked better, everything I did, I did better... ...

Tomorrow is the 4 month mark...

4 months in tomorrow, without any major malfunctions. Down 81 lbs today. But then there is Thursday...Thanksgiving.

So, I wanted a way to kick Thanksgiving's ass, instead of it being a stumbling block. I am going to the gym that morning, and that evening. Get up and get the metabolism moving early, then make myself eat a little light, "since I have to go work out after". I want to lose 1 pound on Thanksgiving Day.

It can happen...

Finally gonna make it to the gym tonight. I have really procrastinated regarding the gym. I once loved to work out, and did it 5 days a week. But after taking off a decade and a half, it has been hard to get back to it. But I have my stuff with me, and am going tonight, after work, come hell or high water!

Down 77 lbs so far, not quite 4 months in. Really wanna pick up the exercise a bit, and see if I can lose an extra 2 pounds a week. I think actually breaking down and buying an ...

Yeah, I reall dont have much to say today. The weight loss is going well, but nothing flashy. I lose just a fraction over 3 lbs per week, fairly workman like. Less during the week, when I am fighting time/schedule, more when I am off for the weekend. I feel like it is an acceptable pace.

I am thinking about staying strict on my diet for Thanksgiving. I had thought about letting it go for the holidays, but it is just too...self defeating. Yes, I just decided to go to Thanksgiving w...

Down 70 today, and feeling pretty good about it!

I have been steady, slow and steady.
I am thinking of turning it up a notch soon.
I dont know. Others seem to think that faster is definately worse.
But going from 3.5 lbs/week, to 7 lbs/week for the next couple of months wont kill me, will it? I think I can do that, eating much as I do now, by working out some, and eating in a different pattern during the day.

Anyway, I am thinking about it.
Anybody got anything to say? Advice?

Thanks!

It totally amazes me how many, First Day, Starting Over, Gonna Work This Time, post I see every day. And how few, Week-12, Down 50, Almost There, post I see.
Don't get me wrong, I understand failures, set backs, plateaus, and even the occasional falling off of the old wagon. I actually had a small setback last week, that probably cost me a couple of pounds that could have been lost, that weren't. But how many of these "just getti...

Still doing the same stuff I was doing early on when I was dropping major weight, and the same stuff as during the middle part, when I could drop an ounce without using a carving knife, but now, I am dropping a pretty steady 1/2 pound per day. I can deal with this pace, and hope it keep coming off.
Been trying to stay away from too much exercise up to this point. partly because I thought...

Down a solid 60 lbs today!

The world is my playground. OK, even I don't really buy  that crap.
But I am pretty upbeat today.

Well, haven't written on here in a month. Work and life, in general, have been crazy. And, I have sort of been pissed off at my lack of weight loss. Don't get me wrong, I am down  about 55 or 56 pounds now, and I think that is pretty good for 2 1/2 months.  But it comes off in chunks. Lost 40 pounds fast. Then, the next 10 pounds took me 6 weeks. Then, as soon as I hit the down 50 lbs mark, dropped 6 more over a weekend. The end result isn't bad, but there is no sense to be m...
