make your goals ATTAINABLE!

Everyone has a huge goal in mind of what they want to lose when starting on the path to weight loss and that's GREAT! you should always have a large goal in mind but what you also need to do is to make small goals over shorter periods of time to keep yourself motivated and to not get frusterated and then quit.
I would always say OMG! i have to lose like 50 pounds...and then when i didn't lose the 50 pounds in an unreasonable amount of time like 1 month i'd get fed up, annoyed and quit and then gain more weight.
Diets after diet, and getting frusterated I realized i needed to change my approach.
This time around i set my MAIN goal for 85 pounds. 85lbs?! thats alot! you'll never reach that..you don't have 85 pounds to lose! is what everyone would say to me.
so i have the goal of 85 pounds in the back of my mind at all times. Then i set monthly goals for myself of losing around 8-10 pounds a month. which is easier to focus on. sometimes i didn't reach my goal..and you know what thats OK! the next month i would be more focused and kick my workouts up a notch to get back on track.
the last 15 pounds that i have to lose have been the hardest but i have my eye on the "prize" and i'm pushing through it!
Small goals equal bigger success, i'm doing it and so can YOU!
