Third day

Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 8:42 PM filed under Weight Loss postings
As the third day comes to an end, I can look back at a smooth beginning. Before, I used to fast for three days before starting with a calorie-controlled diet. This time, I just accepted that my weight was going to fluctuate wildly during the first days. And it did! When I first started to diet, I used an application on my Palm organiser, which showed me the trend (deduced from my daily weigh-ins). When my weight was going down, it showed this, and also how much it was going down. Not just for...

Second day

I find in general things are going really well. The diet and recipes are really handy, but things are much complicated by the fact that all ingredients are oriented on the US / Canada. Replacing individual ingredients of a meal is too much of a chore to be practical, I find. I might have to go back to my old strategy of eating until my calories for the day are used up. Hopefully I'll find some middle ground. The exercise suggestions are quite neat as well, even though they also required tweak...

Back to the cold harsh real world

Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11:22 PM filed under Weight Loss postings
Just arrived back home. House is a freezer. Four hours on a plane full of tourists (ourselves included ;-) Leaving sun, sea and sand behind and exchanging them for snow, grey skies and dreary concrete... Hum, seems like I'm in dire need of an upper! ;-) Fortunately I had some messages to read, which should make it easier to slip back into the uniform of body control! Welcome back to the real world!

The last day of 2009; happy new year to everyone!

Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 11:02 AM filed under Weight Loss postings
Yay! Yesterday was a good day; 1.5 kg less today! Probably just a fluke, though ;-) Anyway, enough to keep me happy for a bit, while the New Year's celebrations take their toll. Talking about New Year's celebrations: I wish each and every one of you (especially the ones that don't celebrate the rollover on this day) a healthy, happy and prosperous new year. That all of your dreams, desires, wishes and wants may come true this year. Oh yes, and take it easy with the new year's resolutions; ...

OMG! It's worse than I expected

Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 10:44 AM filed under Weight Loss postings
I haven't stood on scales for nearly half a year, and of course I expected my weight had stayed the same (...)! 2.5kg more than the last time! Right; that does it! I'm so going to start and not give up until I have changed my weight-rising habits! Priorities: Sugar. Sweets, especially chocolates need to be brought under control. If anyone has found strategies that work, please let me know. I looooooove chocolate, especially the dark kind. Hunger. I've been informed that I am an emotional...

Having successfully lost 15kg in 2000 (suppose the new millennium helped a bit ;-) the same thing happened to me that happens to lots of people who manage to get some weight off: it came back on! And so I yo-yo all the way back up to 75kg (I weighed 80kg in 2000). This past year I have started my getting back into shape again regime, after a failed attempt with potions and powders in 2008. I joined a gym and started to count my calories (online, but with another site http://caloriecounter.about....
