Still going strong

I don't really have much to write about, as I am well into my work out routine now.  I am getting a little tired of the aches from working out, but I know at some point they'll either not be as bad, or I'll become so used to them I won't even notice.

I am 1 week into doing weights, and its really making a difference and has boosted my weight loss, and I actually enjoy them more than the cardio, its just as I mentioned above the aches that bother me.  I&nbs...

Nice Sunday Stroll...

Well, not so much of a stroll as a 7mile hike, but it was gorgeous, and a lovely alternative to being at the gym.  It was great weather and beautiful scenery, and a huge calorie burn.  It took us about 3 hours to do the loop, but there were plenty of hills to burn those calories and engage my leg muscles.  Not to...

Ouch...

I worked out with a friend this morning, she is very dedicated and in really good shape.  We started off with some weights focusing on back.  That didn't go too badly, I mean I have no upper body strength, I never have, so I was lifting half the weight she does, but its a start, and I had wobbly arms, so I assume that is a good sign that I wasn't taki...

Been a while

So I have been working hard, although I haven't been writing here.  Its been really disheartening the past few weeks as after my initial 7lbs loss nothing happened.  I weigh myself weekly, but found myself on the scales every day and I didn't lose anymore weight.  I would gain a lb or 2, then lose it again, but that was it... I was getting frustrated, as I was still working out daily and watching what I was eating.

Well.. the weekend didn't go so well

I had to work out a little harder today to make up for my "bad" weekend.  I was out at the coast with a couple of girl friends, and I over did it with my calorie intake... I gained about 5 lbs which I now need to lose just to get back to my starter weight.  I am hoping that been as I managed to put it on so fast, I can lose it just as fast, but time will tell.

In the meantime, I began my monday with my workout and have been eating much ...

A little tougher this morning

It was a battle for me to get out of bed this morning.  It was so warm and cozy beneath my covers.  But I made the effort and dragged myself out of bed and to the gym.  Its the first day I've had to talk myself into going, and I am a little proud of myself for getting myself there.

Once at the gym I was good to go, and did my regular morning workout.

Morning Workouts

I have a full time job and finding the ideal time for me to work out has always been one of my problems.

I can either get up early and workout before I start my job, not always easy getting out of bed when its cold and dark outside.
Work out over my lunch break, sometimes meetings pop up that prevent my from being able to go.
Or, workout after work before heading home... once I am done with work I like to get home, make diner and settle for the evening...

My workout room

I spent some time at the weekend creating my own little work out room, equiped with my yoga mat, and other equipment, tv, and dvd player for my workout dvds and some music.

Its my own space in the house I share with my boyfriend, I spent some time making it look and feel relaxing, so I can zone out when I do my yoga.

Weekends...

It sure is much tougher on the weekend.  We had a visitors in town, so there was a lot of eating out and watching local bands.  I managed to burn off some of the extra calories by dancing for about 3 hours :)

So my day has been full of meetings and I ran out of the house this morning leaving my lunch and gym bag next to the sofa...

So no mid day workout, or premade controlled lunch... I spent 600 calories on a salad wrap... no dressing... tastey but a calorie nightmare from the looks of things.

Tonight we are going out for a friends birthday, so I doubt I'll be able to make up for my earlier mistake.  I will try though.
